Seoul, South Korea

This trendy city has world-class dining and a seemingly never-ending nightlife scene. On top of that, Seoul has plenty of street food and places to shop. It is every world traveler’s dream.

Getting around the city can be hectic, but South Korea’s public transportation is cheap (about one US dollar per ride). Neighborhoods to consider visiting include:
  • Jongno (the heart of the old city)
  • Kyungliden (for unique eateries)
  • Gangnam (if you love shopping)
  • Nogari Alley (to spend all night partying)

Many Koreans know basic English, but you should also learn some of their phrases before your trip, including “annyeonghaseyo” (hello), “juseyo” (please), and “kamsahamnida” (thank you).

Visit Seoul in the spring or fall (when the temperatures are between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit) if at all possible. Call on your friends, bring the best travel sling bags with you, and enjoy Seoul, South Korea.

Namibia

Namibia is a beautiful country in southwestern Africa. This is one of the safest African travel destinations. Best of all, it is not full of crowded, “touristy” attractions. Instead, it features natural beauty and plenty of space to enjoy peace and quiet. Another thing you should know is Namibia is one of the least densely populated countries in the world, and its night skies are breathtaking.

Namibia’s sights are few and far between, so either book tours or rent a car during your trip. Most of their roads are bumpy, so be prepared to change a flat tire if worse comes to worst. Of all the areas to visit, you should consider Etosha National Park, Sesriem, Fish River Canyon, Windhoek, Kolmanskop, the Skeleton Coast, or the Tropic of Capricorn.

Lodging accommodations are sparse, so rates are pretty much the same across the board (around $100 or more per night). However, you might consider bringing your camping gear for more affordable options. When it comes to food, be prepared to taste different game meat, including warthog, kudu, impala, oryx, and zebra.

Nearly everyone speaks fluent English in Namibia, and it has an arid climate. Pack your favorite summer attire and your X-over bag for this trip. You won’t regret a trip to this African country.

The Yucatan

The Yucatan Peninsula is located in Central America at the intersection of Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize. This region has a rich culture and is a neat international travel destination (especially if you love Mexican and Caribbean cuisine).

Traveling to this region of the world is quite affordable, and the locals are very welcoming to visitors. Festivals, fairs, and parades are common here, and dining options are prevalent. The Yucatan boasts tons of fresh tropical fruits for sale at local markets (Merida and Valladolid are great markets to check out).

Riviera Maya is more tourist-centric, but you can get an even better cultural experience if you go to the eastern region of the Yucatan. The natural beauty of the Yucatan cannot be beat! Experience beaches, cenotes, mangroves, tropical gardens, and other photogenic landscapes.

We highly recommend going off the beaten path and staying at a hacienda or non-chain hotel. The Yucatan is significantly safer than other areas of Central America. Don’t forget to take sling bags for travel; they will come in handy during your vacation to the Yucatan.

The Aegean

The Aegean Sea encompasses Greece eastward to Turkey. This part of the Mediterranean region is absolutely gorgeous and well worth the experience. Along with miles of picturesque coastal views, many tourists love the local cuisine and scenic hikes during their vacation.

Sailing and island hopping are popular tourist activities in the Aegean region (Naxos and Crete are definite must-sees). Some of the most visited Aegean islands are Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, and Rhodes. Rhodes is one of the largest Greek islands and offers myriad activities, including visiting the ancient ruins.

At the very least, you should plan to go swimming near one of these beaches: Kambi (Fourni island), Potokaki (Samos island), Seychelles (Ikaria island), or Vatera (Tarti island). You should also stop over at Izmir, Turkey, known as the “pearl of the Aegean.” Izmir was called Smyrna in Biblical times, and has ancient Greek and Roman heritage and a host of open-air museums and historical sites.

If you prefer less crowded places, book your stay in Paros. This island has some remarkable beaches and gives you opportunities to experience Greek culture on a deeper level. Book a trip to the Aegean region and pack your travel shoulder bags for an adventure of a lifetime.

Iceland

Iceland is an underrated international travel destination. If you’ve wanted a place to get away from it all, look no further than Iceland; it has the lowest population density of all the European countries. In fact, it is so tiny that nearly all the native Icelanders are distantly related.

The land of fire (volcanoes) and ice (glaciers) has more than meets the eye. Truly, this area is a nature lover’s paradise because it has been largely untouched by humans. You can visit volcanoes, lava fields, geysers, glaciers, fjords, natural hot springs, black sand beaches, waterfalls, and mountains.

The Ring Road is easily accessible and features several waterfalls and other natural wonders. If you get the chance, you should visit Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. Vatnajökull covers nearly ten percent of the country’s landmass. Hikers also love Fjallabak Syðra, which features colorful mountains, lava fields, rivers, and lakes.

You will be amazed when you listen to the Icelandic language (one of the hardest languages to learn), which has largely remained the same since the 9th century. Don’t worry; many Icelanders also speak English. Pack your best sling travel bags and come visit this awe-inspiring country.
